How To Come Up With Home Theater Ideas
65987 Home & Family Feb 27, 2008 60capp11 How To Come Up With Home Theater Ideas Coming up with home theater ideas in today's world shouldn't be a difficult assignment given the level of technology we are at but in a sense, simplicity seems to have gone out the window and confusion reigns for many looking at setting up their own personal entertainment show piece. Let's take a look at exactly what a home theater should comprise without making it all sound too difficult. By using this as a guide then the core basics of your theater set up will be in place. Four Essential Components When looking at home theater ideas there are four basic components which make up a true home entertainment area. 1. The television is first and foremost your first consideration. It's the centerpiece of your home theater. It doesn't need to be a the largest screen you can find but today, high definition TV is definitely a good start. 2. Establishing a video source such as a DVD player or VCR. The latter is starting to get a little outdated so a DVD player should be your first choice. A VCR should be added only if you still have that old collection of movies you built up during the 1980s. 3. Good sound reproduction ability in the shape of an audio decoder. Surround sound is almost required in today's environment especially if you want true cinema sound bouncing off the walls of your room. 4. Good quality speakers are the final component of your show piece. How many speakers do you need? This can be debated ad infinitum but it really depends on the size of your room. Minimum of three up to six and of course, a sub-woofer. These are just the basics and in time, accessories such as home theater chairs, pop corn machines and paraphernalia adorning the walls will complete your project. But there is no need to be in a rush as this type of project should be an ongoing one for the first few months. Getting good home theater ideas is a easy as visiting your local showroom such as Best Buy. Display areas dedicated to home entertainment are also a haven for ideas and don't just visit one; visit as many as you can. Other considerations will obviously come into play and one of those will be budget. That's why if you are on a restricted budget then there is no harm in treating this as an ongoing project. The bottom line is, don't complicate your project and while you establish the four components highlighted above, you'll be away to a great start.
