Read A Good Book And Reduce Your Stress Levels
63350 Self Improvement > Stress Management Jan 11, 2008 kevin03 Read A Good Book And Reduce Your Stress Levels Mold can get on just about anything in your home that is made of organic material, but the majority of people do not realize just what all they can do to help prevent this. From clothes to furniture to baby bottles, anything that you own that is wet or in an area of your home with high humidity can become a breeding ground for mold, but there are a few things that you can do to stop this from happening as long as you are consistent in your efforts. One thing that you can do is clean up any spills of water or leaks in your home as soon as they happen. Keeping rooms dry in this regard will help the humidity level in your house a lot and keeping humidity down is one way to fight mold. Many people think that mold growth is only caused by standing water or leaky plumbing, but it can also be caused by high humidity and this is the most common cause of it. If you have humidity problems in the basement, you can install a dehumidifier to assist with this problem and if you have this problem in the kitchen or the bathroom, installing an exhaust fan for a couple hundred dollars will also help. If you have oddly shaped glasses or baby bottles and they become molded after you wash them because you cannot dry them out completely, the solution to this is simple. All you have to do after you wash them is dry them the best that you can and put them in the freezer until you need them again. This will prevent mold from growing on them. Carpet also collects mold spores and will become molded over time, especially if it becomes wet. This is something that should never be found in the bathroom or the kitchen, due to the naturally wet environment in these areas. One thing that you can do to reduce the amount of mold spores and other debris in the air is purchasing a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter in it. This filters most of these particles out of the air and captures them very effectively, but you can go a step further by purchasing a HEPA air purifying system for your home. Make sure you purchase one that can handle the size of your home, though, or it will not completely do the job you purchased it for.
