The agitator paddles may not also be as friendly as they look and can damage some delicate fabric, so choosing what goes in the machine should be done with caution and care. Conversely, in front loading washing machines, the basket and the tub are positioned horizontally. Loading is then done through a door located in the front of the appliance, thus the name. The swirl and spins of the machine is not only manipulated by the rotating motion of the cylinder but with the aid of gravity as well. This action allows all the clothes to be soaked and submerged in water and detergent for a uniform wash. Because of this, less water and less soap is also needed.
