Whether it be making long journeys to watch a match to standing up in bitter weather just to watch their football demigods live in action, true followers of football always believe in going the whole nine yards. But most importantly they believe in dressing up for the occasion. And what better way to do that than wear the ubiquitous football jersey which is sported by ardent fans of football the world over and who regularly keep their clothing updated. Almost all the national and international clubs make enormous profits out of selling football shirts and some clubs, such as Real Madrid and Manchester United have an aggressive marketing policy which earns them a huge amount through souvenirs sold by the club. Such policies are especially aimed at selling more and more football shirts and some actually have the players names emblazoned across the backside. But of course all great things come for a steep price and for such shirts pricing usually is more than forty pounds and fifty five Euros for those shirts bought internationally. To this is easily added another fifteen pounds if the jersey bears the number or name of a football player but of course loyalists remain undaunted at such prospects even if they have to scrape up the money and face hardship later. Fans consider it a matter of pride and honor to be able to sport the regalia of their favorite club on the roads. This obviously makes all the other people around them rather envious and this is quite the desired effect since the shirt is worn by such fans so that they stand out in the crowd. The loyal fans keep returning to their favorite clubs for more slices of the action and the clubs often bank on this fact. Thus many more shirts are continually introduced into the market such as home, away, special edition shirts of Europe and Anniversaries. But not all people fall for this trick and some intelligent ones actually refuse to part with their money for shirts belonging to older seasons. But thankfully for the clubs, such people are few and far in between in comparison to the hordes who simply adore shopping for their choice shirts on the internet and in the stores. Since many children the world over, are huge football fans they often mollycoddle their parents to buy exorbitantly priced shirts for them and the parents in such cases are often worse-off. The very fact that new shirts are introduced every season only adds to their misery. Since such parents do not really care about the minute changes made to the shirts with each fresh batch the situation is further aggravated. Some clubs even decide on the same type home and away shirts with variations only in the shade. But despite all this the football shirt remains extremely popular with die-hard fans and others and such people will continue to purchase these irrespective of the price.
