Explain to your child why you got them a tutor and that since the tutor is there to help them with their school work that, that is all they should be concentrating on. The benefit of home tutoring is that you can have the tutor come to you but at the same time it can a distraction because your child is surrounded by a TV or video game that they may be thinking about more than the task at hand. Make sure that when you decide that you want to use a home tutor that there is a place that your child can study without any interruption. If you have a room that does not have a TV in it, then make the suggestion that the tutoring be done there. Home tutoring is a great for the child because they are more relaxed in their own hone rather than in a library or in a professional center. If your child has a computer at home then it is a bonus as well. There are a lot of tutors out there who use computers in their teachings. Home tutoring comes with the positives and the negatives, one of the positives is that having a home tutor come to your home a few days a week means that you as a parent have more time at home. Tutoring is very important for a student and it means having a flexible schedule as the tutor and as the parent. Home tutoring will work in favor for your child because as we mentioned an environment that is comfortable to the child will be a better learning environment. There are plenty of tutoring services that will be more than happy to come to your home and help your child. You can find these services in your local yellow pages and in your local advertisement newspaper. You will also see students advertising tutoring skills in your home in the local supermarkets. Ask your child's guidance counselor if they know of any students that would be great for tutoring. There are even interactive online home tutoring services. Some parents find great services online and they help their child with learning. Tutoring is a great tool to help your child in the area where they don't feel like they are up to par with the rest of the class and no matter what type of tutoring that you get for your child, make sure that you do your research. If you choose a tutor based on the fact that they can come to your home and not their credentials then you aren't doing your job. Getting help for your child is the most important thing.
