A GED is a high school equivalency diploma which when completed is the same as completing high school. Many people go at it alone and do just fine on the test but there are a lot of people who are not studiers or scholastically capable of studying themselves and that also may a reason why they dropped out of high school. By thinking that a high school or college student could be a better choice because they just went through it sounds like it would work but it would not. Here is why, high school or college students fresh from high school are not ready to teach someone the things that they just learned. You want someone who knows what areas will be on the test. If you are looking for some extra help once you know that algebra will on the test, then a high school or college student as a tutor works out fine. But as far as a hiring a tutor in order to pass the GED it is best to find a professional tutoring service. Check your local yellow pages there are tutoring centers in almost every town that specializes in GED tutoring. Tutoring is not limited to teaching centers, there are GED tutoring books as well as computer programs online that you may want to check into. By choosing a GED authority it is like getting an expert eye of what is on a test, choosing a high school or college student may be able to help with certain subjects but they really have no idea of what is on these tests. You want someone who has seen a test and know what is covered. More and more adults are wanting to go back to school for their GED's but they understand that they need help and that tutoring is a first step in getting a better job. Making a better life is so important right now and going back to high school or getting a GED is the best way to achieve that.
