The fair features more than 50 antique dealers, verbal appraisals by some well known personalities in the business, as well as lunches & tea parties. The Vetust Study Club has become an icon for Ashville as a community-oriented organization. The North Carolina Mountain State Fair also lays claim to bringing the people of the mountain communities together. It provides fun & joy for all young & old with rides, animal shows, plenty of food & some live music. With an estimated attendance of 175,000 in its 14th year, the state fair is definitely something to visit & enjoy. The fair is hosted by the Western North Carolina Agricultural Centre & runs for 10 days till around midnight on most days. The Fair features music & dance competitions along with different crafts & live stock related exhibits. Having a chance to live in a place that not only appreciates the value of harmony, art, culture & nature, but also thrives on it, doesn't come too often.
