Certainly having a good understanding of the rules and the various strategies that are used will help to improve and enhance the way you play the game no end. To raise then they will put in more money than all previous players. Whilst a player who chooses to fold will do so because they consider that they do not have a good hand and do not wish to continue on in the current game. Certainly as the game advances then a beginner will need to learn more about the various stages of the game as it advances.
