Prison Break is Over!
41172 Science and Technology > Television Aug 14, 2007 william21105 Prison Break is Over! Prison Break came shooting into our television screens on August 29, 2005. Even though most of all new Fox shows get cancelled this one kept going on. Being lined up before the already popular 24 was not a lucky draw, but it held its ground. Now it is going into its third season averaging around 9 million viewers. Its serialized story structure, similar to the format of 24 and Lost, has kept it popular even though the storyline seems to be really dragging on. Their seems to be only 20 million that really like this kind of story structure, but when their are only 3 shows on on television like this then it is easy to hit the jackpot. The first season, which consisted of 22 episodes, Lincoln Burrows is charged with the murder of Terrence Steadman (The brother of the female vice president). He is sent to Fox River State Penitentiary to await his execution. Michael Scolfield, Lincoln's brother, is sure that he is innocent and plans a way to get his brother out. This plan includes getting himself put into the same jail. He has their whole escape plan tattooed on his body. He has to make friends with the right people to ensure that the escape goes as plan. They are aided by the jail nurse, Veronica Donovan. She investigates to try and find out more about the conspiracy. They are slowed down by covert agents, who belong to an organization known as the company. That is the first season in a nut shell. The second season, which also consists of 22 episodes, begins eight hours after the escape from the prison. Old characters from the jail are thrown out and new ones brought in. They spend their time running and suddenly deciding to try and solve the mystery. Federal agent Alexander Mahone is assigned to track down and capture the eight escapees. He is able to use pictures of Michael's tattoos to try and track them down. The Company continues with their plan to take out Lincoln. Michael ends up in Panama jail where he can not be touched by united states, but is now stuck in jail again. Their has been a lot of speculation as to what they could do in season 3 but to end the conspiracy. However, it is said that season threes plot will be "as different in tone as Season 2 was from Season 1". I do not know about you but I do not want to see anymore bars or running. Either they need to bring in something new for the plot or end this everlasting conspiracy. I have read spoilers saying that this might be the last season of Prison Break, hopefully not if they get a new plot. William is 24 years old and has a four year degree in journalism.
