First of all, if you want to achieve in life, you have to know what exactly you want in life. Most of us do not know what we want in life and so we do not set goals. If we do not have goals, we have no motivation and thus end up with no achievements. You must have a clear picture of what you want and start focusing on getting what you want. You may ask yourself a few questions that might help in finding your goals. The answers to these queries would help you to understand your goals. o What are my talents, skills or abilities? Sometimes even a hobby might lead to a possible career. So make sure to list and visualize all your talents or abilities. o What is it that makes me happy? It is important to like what you are doing so this question is very important. Once you know your talents, you could do some research on jobs related to these areas or talents. o Am I doing the right thing? You could answer this question by talking to others, listening to others and weighing the pros and cons to evaluate and make a decision. o What do I need to have in order to achieve what is important? Once you analyze this answer you would come to know the resources needed to achieve your goals - is it money, energy, plan, time, education or counselling? o You also need to look into the possible blocks, which may pose as obstacles. Once you have your answers for the above queries, you would be able to draw a realistic plan to set your goal. You have to change your attitude and habits accordingly. It is important after you map your goals to make sure that you surround yourself with those who share or understand your goals. You should live in an environment that would help you grow and thus achieve your goals. You need an effective goal setting for successful achievement. Once you know what you want to achieve, then you should begin working towards achieving it. You need to keep a clear picture of your goal and focus on the steps to take. Just keep your dream alive and move towards it. Your enthusiasm should create the momentum to keep you moving in a proper direction. Discuss with friends, meet new people, get on to forums and blogs, attend seminars or workshops and get some inspiration. This is the way you build motivation and enthusiasm and also prepare yourself for things to come. If you feel some people or places threaten your progress, move away from them. Do not get bogged down by minor errors along the way - just forgive yourself and keep moving. If you truly concentrate on working your dream or goal, you are sure to achieve your goals more easily, even sooner than you thought. Winners take action.
