This game features 50 licensed cars with models from Subaru, Toyota, Lexus and Mitsubishi and was released for PS2, Xbox, PC and Nintendo GameCube. In order to win the game you must do more than just win a street race. The money you earn racing are more important in deciding the winner of the game and you will lose money if you need to repair your car after every race. Street Racers Syndicate is one of the few online games that actually encourages safe driving. Tokyo Xtreme Racer is very different from other games and was successful mostly in North America. Due to its North American success a few sequels were developed: Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2, Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero and Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 in this chronological order. The goal of the player is to challenge drivers from the streets of Tokyo, win a street race and make enough money to upgrade his car or to buy a new, better one. The more opponents you defeat the better the car you can afford to buy. Other street racing games like Midnight Club move the action during the night and take you in the middle of the illegal racing world.
