5 Ingredients For Healthy Child Development
29804 Home & Family > Parenting Jun 20, 2007 computergeek112 5 Ingredients For Healthy Child Development Most parents are very concerned about doing everything they possibly can to ensure healthy child development for their children. Many fret so much about it, in fact, they keep themselves awake at night worrying about what more they can do or should do. Although there is no "easy way out" when it comes to raising children in a healthy environment, there are five ingredients parents can strive to include in daily life that can help. The 5 ingredients for healthy child development are: Prevention. This ingredient for healthy child growth and development actually encompasses a number of things. From ensuring they have the right inoculations to prevent the potential for serious illness to making sure swimming pools are enclosed and medicines are kept out of reach, prevention is a major key to success in child development. Keeping children, of all ages, as safe as possible is vital for child growth and development. So, too, are regular medical check ups to ensure child development is on track or close to it. Nutrition. Child development cannot happen correctly unless healthy, balanced nutrition is a part of daily lifestyle. Children need calcium for strong teeth and bones. They need protein to build strong brain functions and muscles. Fruits, vegetables, grains and more help make sure child growth and development is moving full speed ahead. This doesn't mean a fast-food treat isn't okay once in a while. It just means that junk food should be the exception, not the norm if healthy child development is the concern. Sleep. This plays a very important role in healthy child growth and development. Children need a lot more sleep than adults. Even teens tend to require more than the eight hours adults are recommended. What each child personally requires will vary a bit, but make sure they get plenty of rest so their bodies can do the hard work of growing correctly to aid with healthy child development. Education. This also plays a vital role in healthy child development. From teaching a toddler to count blocks to helping a high school student master algebra, education is the key to their future. While formal education is restricted during set school hours, it doesn't mean education that can help with child growth and development should be. Everything from helping them learn to cut their meat for the first time to handling a first sporting loss with grace counts in the healthy child development column. Incorporate educational lessons into everyday life for the best results. The more fun the lesson, the better! Love. Never underestimate the power of a loving, supportive environment when it comes to healthy child growth and development. This ingredient might be one of the most important when it comes to raising confident, caring adults. Love doesn't mean shirking on discipline or caving into crazy requests. When it comes to child development, love means letting them know you care (always) and making sure they do the things you know are good for them even if they don't. Helping ensure proper child growth and development is something most parents are very concerned about. When the five basic ingredients go into everyday lifestyle, the odds are in a child's favor that most everything will work out just fine. Any major concerns about child development, however, should be brought to a doctor's attention. It never hurts to ask. I have started an online community where parents can come together and talk to one another about anything related to their children. Anything from their child's safety to their child's development we are always discussing. send email to computergeek112
