The Abundance Principle: Simplifying Your Life by Focusing on Abundance
29712 Self Improvement > Stress Management Jun 20, 2007 momscape The Abundance Principle: Simplifying Your Life by Focusing on Abundance Simplifying your life is not about launching a complicated system of decluttering and organizing. Simplifying your life is about changing your perspective from one of scarcity to one of abundance. To simplify your life is to be grateful for all the things in your life. Many times, those things are not physical possessions. The abundance of your life has nothing to do with the number of cars in your garage or the number of square feet in your living room. The abundance in your life is in your mind and your soul. It is there today. It was there yesterday. It will be there tomorrow. It is entirely independent of your bank balance. But you choose whether to recognize it. And when you begin to recognize the abundance in your life, your wants and needs will begin to diminish, naturally and spontaneously. When I lose sight of the abundance in my life, it helps me to take a walk in a forest or a field or anyplace where the natural world has been allowed to run rampant. Every square inch of such a place is teeming with life: bugs, seeds, plants. When I allow myself a few moments to take it all in, the "naturalness" of a state of abundance returns to my awareness. When we focus on abundance, we see more abundance. And so our very awareness of abundance attracts more abundance into our lives, which makes us more grateful, and so the cycle continues in an upward spiral. We have been hearing a lot these days about The Law of Attraction. It is the same force at work. What we recognize and appreciate and focus on, we create more of in our lives. When we are loving and generous and kind, the world suddenly becomes more loving and generous and kind. When we look for and recognize the abundance in our world, abundance flows into our awareness. The most important things in life work according to this principle: The more you give, the more you receive. For example: Creativity. The more you exercise your creativity, the more ideas you will have. Energy. Have you ever noticed that you feel most energized immediately after a good run? The right kind of exertion actually creates physical energy. Love. The more you love, the more your awareness of love increases and the more love you will experience. Working on these areas in your life is the most efficient type of work because your results are exponential to your effort. Today, strive to make the Abundance Principle work in your life. Strive to see each and every blessing. Ignore anything you perceive as a shortfall as though it simply does not exist. Just for today, strive to maintain this awareness and see what happens.
