Why Building A Schedule Will Help You Stay Sane
21783 Business > Home Based Business Apr 23, 2007 Why Building A Schedule Will Help You Stay Sane When you are working from home, a schedule is something that you absolutely must have. It doesn't matter what your home business or your job from home is, no matter what you are going to be tempted to take on more than you can handle. You have to be sure that you are only doing what you can do, and that you are doing all that you can do but keeping sane at the same time. A schedule is something that can help you with this. The most important thing to remember is that if you work from home you are the boss of you. You can decide what days you work and what days you take off, and you can decide what hours you are working as well. These are all decisions that you can make based on your schedule, what kind of hours you would like to keep, and what kind of other things you have to do with your life. It can all be up to you - but the important thing is that you do it. Sit down with yourself and decide how many hours a week you want to be working on your home business. Don't simply say you will work when you have work to do, because this means you'll be taking on more work and working all the time. Set a number of hours, and then tell yourself that is all you'll be working. From there, you can decide how much work you take on based upon the number of hours that you are going to be working. It might seem tempting to have a home business that goes with the flow and that is available all of the time. However, you have to remember that since you are the boss, you make the rules, and you have to make these rules so that you can have a life outside of your home business. This is very important because the main reason that a lot of people get into the home business world is that they want to be able to have more of a life outside of the office. Organization is the key to having a schedule for your home business that works. Sit down with yourself and a calendar and actually mark down what days you will work and how long you'll work on those days. If you want 10 hour days, great, but then take some time off each week to do other things. Work the amount of time you want to work, but remember that you have to schedule yourself to do other things to. Something else that you can do is to schedule yourself to do the chores you have to do as well. If you have one day a week that is set aside for running errands and cleaning the house, you'll find that it gets done much quicker and on time each week.
