So, you want to start a home-based internet business, but you don't have a product in mind to sell or any start up money. You may want to consider an affiliate program business. This is where you create a website that promotes items on other websites. Every time someone makes a purchase from your referral you get a small commission. There seems to be an affiliate program for everything from computer sales and flowers to food, jewelry and magazines Do you love art, have a lot of information to share about it and would like to teach other people your appreciation? There are a number of companies that sell art, posters prints, sculptures and other items and have affiliate programs that will pay you up to 30% on purchases that come from your referral link. Maybe, you've always wanted to be a sommelier, and you know all there is to know about wine. There are wineries and other wine sellers that will give you 10% on purchases that are made through your website referral. One company that has a major affiliate program is Amazon. You may have noticed links to Amazon items from all sorts of other websites. Every time you buy one of the items from that referral link, the person who owns the link gets up to ten percent of the purchase price in their bank account. They have also made it easy to sign up with just an online application to fill out. Once you're approved they'll give you the links to use to start making money. The Amazon affiliate program is over a million strong and growing, but that doesn't mean it's over-tapped. If you have a niche market that you know how to advertise to, and can link them to items for sale on Amazon that fit their needs, you can have easy money coming in. You can find a number of other affiliate programs by doing a google search for 'affiliate guide'. Chances are an affiliate program will not make you a millionaire. It probably won't even pay all the bills, but it is a nice supplemental income that you can create out of something you love. That is the secret. Make sure the affiliate program is something you are interested in or know a lot about. If you create a website that teaches people about that topic, even helps them to understand your passion for it, it may stir a little passion for them that makes them in turn want to make a purchase, and make a commission for you.
