It is run under private control within the boundary of a general hospital. It is mostly meant for those patients who require regular supervision and have to be kept under strict control. The patient is given the basic medicinal support to allow him/her to leave drugs step by step. But detox is not sufficient in many cases. Otherwise long-term treatment, guidance and psychological boosting are required along with medicinal support. Long-term programs Long-term rehab programs are typically residential and designed in such a manner that a patient can be kept for a longer duration till cure. These are not just based on medicinal supervision and psychiatric treatment but an overall involvement of the patient in various activities to bring him back to real state of living. Rehabilitation in true sense is exercised through these programs.
