The checklist below is designed to help you stay organized and make sure that you get the most out of your consultation appointment as well as find the most qualified person to perform the procedure. Your Plastic Surgery Consultation Basic Information - Date and time of your appointment: - The plastic surgeon's name: - The office phone number and address: - Directions to the office: Cosmetic Surgeon's Credentials When electing to have medically unnecessary surgery, you want to make sure you choose q qualified surgeon with vast certification and experience. - Is the plastic surgeon Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery? - Is the plastic surgeon certified by any other boards? - How long have they been in practice? - Which hospitals does the plastic surgeon have operating room and admitting privileges at? - Ask where your procedure would be performed? License and Insurance Contact your state's medical licensing board and ask if the license for the plastic surgeon is in good standing. Does the plastic surgeon accept you're insurance if it covers your liposuction procedure? Liposuction Procedure Experience Feel free to ask your potential surgeon about his or her past experiences with your specific procedure. - How much experience do they have doing liposuction? - How many times a year do you perform the procedure? - Ask to see photos of other patients who have had the same procedure you are inquiring about.
